You’ve Pinned Your Dream Space, but Now What?

We love when clients come to us with Pinterest boards—it means you’re engaged, inspired, and already dreaming. But we also know how easy it is to feel overwhelmed by too much inspiration. This quick guide will help you use Pinterest in a way that’s both enjoyable and genuinely helpful for our design process.

1. Pin What Feels Right, Not Just What Looks Good

Don’t worry about what’s popular or what other people are doing. Focus on what resonates with you—even if you can’t explain why yet. A color, a texture, a mood… Pin it. It’s about your story, not what is trending.

Pro Tip: Trust your instincts. Your emotional reaction to a space matters more than a style label.

2. Let Color Lead You

Pinterest is a great place to discover color palettes. Watch for shades that keep popping up in your pins. You might be surprised what you’re drawn to! Try searching:“earth tone palette interiors”, “warm neutral interiors”, “jewel tones dining room” …or even upload a photo of a scarf or artwork you love to find matching palettes!

3. Look for Patterns, Not Perfect Rooms

Instead of aiming to copy a whole room, look for common themes across your favorite pins:

Are you drawn to natural wood tones? Do you love vintage elements or modern clean lines? Is there always a cozy corner or layered lighting?

Spotting these patterns helps your designer (that’s us!) understand your vibe and translate it into something totally custom. Your home should be a reflection of you, not of a pinterest board!

4. Organize with Purpose

Create a few Pinterest boards to keep things clear: One for overall mood/inspiration, One for furniture and layout ideas, One for specific finishes, materials, or details.

Feel free to share your boards with us. We’ll help interpret them into a design plan that works for your space.

5. Use Pinterest as a Starting Point, Not the Final Plan

A perfect Pinterest room may not fit your home, lifestyle, or budget—but it can point us in the right direction. Our job is to take that inspiration and create something truly personal, livable, and beautiful for you. Pinterest should make you feel excited, not anxious. Keep your boards edited, revisit them often, and most importantly—have fun with the process. We’ll be right there with you to bring it all to life.
