Design Build: The Process

Designing a new build is about more than selecting finishes — it’s about creating a home that feels intentional from the very beginning. Our process starts with understanding both the architecture and the lifestyle behind the home. With our experience, education and vision, we make sure that the process exciting but never overwhelming for our clients.

In a perfect world, we start with the lot. We collaborate with your builder and study the setting, the natural light, and the views. This is where the vision begins! We talk about architecture and materials. We talk about style: modern, traditional, mid-century, mediterranean revival, and others. We do a lot of discovery, so we know exactly what our clients love, and sometimes more importantly what they do not like at all!

Once we have exterior inspiration, we move indoors.

We discuss the floor plan: one story, or two or three? Few visit different options for flooring, cabinets, doorways, windows. The list is long, but we take it step by step to make sure all the details are prioritized.
